This was a design developed during training in The Lir’s MFA program.

The narrative is told from the perspective of the governess whose version of the story is dubious at the best of times.

This influenced the decision to place the ghosts behind two way mirrors with an inner wall of angled mirrors, creating the opportunity to make them appear and reappear allowing you to question whether they are there or not.

This set was designed for The Samuel Beckett Dublin.
